Sigmund Freud
Sigmund Freud developed a theory of personality called Psychoanalysis.

Freud stated that the
Self has Sub-Divisions of Id, Ego, and Superego and that growth occurs in Stages.
The Id represented motivation or the Pleasure Principle.
The Ego represented the Personality traits of the Self.
The Superego represented the Conscience.
Freud wrote about Fixation, where one's growth does not change past a certain point.
